Thank you for a wonderful Event!

It was so fun to be together in person again to celebrate and support our amazing students and outstanding co-curricular programs, which are so important for developing critical skills beyond the classroom! 

Unlike any crab feed in our history, this year it took place outside on the quad. Guests were greeted at the cocktail hour by the sounds of O'Dowd Jazz Band and with passed appetizers. At the bar guests marveled at golden themed signature cocktails glittering in the sunlight as they socialized with those we haven't seen in over 2 years. They also bid on silent auction items, played games, won prizes, and shopped at the Dragon Den pop up shop. The O'Dowd string orchestra welcomed everyone to dinner where the program included an exciting round of golden ticket, a live auction with 10 incredible packages to, 2 instant wine cellar winners.  Oakland favorite, DJ Taz kicked off after dark on 1's and 2's and many party goers closed it down on the dance floor.
 
O’Dowd is truly blessed with the generous support of this caring and involved community. And, wow! Here is what we were able to do together:
  • More than 40 O’Dowd students and 150 parents, guardians, staff, and friends of O'Dowd volunteered their time to organize and run the event. An extra special thanks to our stellar event co-chairs George E. Boggs III, Stephanie Long and Jim Macksood.
  • Servers sorted over 200 pounds of crab shells which were composted in the Living Lab and little waste went to the landfill.
  • 500 guests showed up ready to eat, drink, dance and give! 
  • During the paddle raise, you honored our dedicated faculty and staff by investing in the Fund for Faculty Excellence by a record amount.
  • Overall, we exceeded our fundraising goal making this our most successful Crab Feed ever!

Thank you again for an amazing night, we are truly humbled by your generosity and grateful for your partnership!  See you again in 2023!
