May 3 - O'Dad Band Party

A day party into the night hosted by Sophomore parents. Enjoy the lively mixes and choice selections of DJ Saul Good and a live Rock-n-Roll band (remember live bands? We do!) Substantial food, delicious drinks and the pre-famous and always-a-good-time O'Dad Band (aka "Dad Co.") have agreed to rock us with a set or two to cap off the evening. Remember...we're doing it (mostly) for the kids!

Hosts: Devra Laner and Otis Johnson (Faculty), Sophie McNeill (P'27), Pooneh Koohyar (P'26)
Embark on your journey of creating farm-to-table meals with O'Dowd's very own Master Gardeners, Devra Laner and Otis Johnson. Join Devra and Otis for an educational tour of O'Dowd's veggie garden, where they will offer insights on growing tasty vegetables in your own backyard. They are prepared to answer any questions you have about growing and harvesting edible plants, including plant selection, pest control, composting, and achieving tomato perfection! At the end of the event, Devra and Otis will help you select 15 O'Dowd grown veggie starts to take home. They will help you choose the right variety for your microclimate from popular warm season vegetables such as tomatoes, eggplants, peppers, cucumbers, melons, herbs, and flowers. You'll round out your afternoon with some light appetizers and Prosecco. Your student will be impressed by how delicious their salads and vegetables are!

Join in for an outdoor evening of food, libations and music, while enjoying a throwback vibe. You can work off your mac and cheese and other soul food goodies (veggie friendly goodies too!) to an old school DJ, while Cabbage Patching, doing the Running Man or even singing along karaoke style to old-school - and some new school grooves. To get in the groove, check out the Soul Train youtube channel - Soul Train and if you are feeling it, feel free to dress in an expression of YOUR soul. This is an all-classes, inclusive event. We look forward to fun with all of our old and new Bishop O'Dowd friends!

Back for another year, OAKtoberfest combines things we all love - beer, friends and sausage - all hosted outdoors on a gorgeous night in October. You will be outdoors unless it is not gorgeous. There will be music. There will be schnitzels and dirndls and wurst. There will be Germans! And feats of strength. And a wall dividing us into east and west that we try to tear down!** All are welcome!
